Status: Full-Time, Exempt, 12-month

Salary: $58,500 - $70,000/year

This position is part of a team that supports and maintains servers (cloud and on-prem), networking and telephone infrastructure/services, desktops, peripherals, and select media equipment throughout campus.

The work of this role involves managing, maintaining, and implementing all systems related technology on campus and assisting while also serving as the lead for application integration enterprise systems.

Working closely with a team of IT professionals on a small college campus, the Systems Administrator will be on the front lines maintaining the day-to-day operations of the PSC server infrastructure as well as monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. The work involved includes but is not limited to: applying system patches and upgrades on a regular basis; upgrading administrative tools and utilities; periodic testing and verification of proper function/health of server infrastructure (On-site and Cloud based); and the design, coding/configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise integration tools.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the day-to-day operations of the PSC server infrastructure by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.

  • Apply system patches and upgrades on a regular basis (Servers and Clients), and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

  • Configure I Add new services as necessary.

  • Periodic testing and verification of proper function/health of server infrastructure (On-site and Cloud based) and backup systems.

  • Maintain Azure configuration and its connections to local AD forest.

  • Perform systems troubleshooting and incident management for systems and products.

  • Help develops new system and application implementation plans,

  • Develop, maintain and support reliable security, backup, and disaster recovery plans and systems.

  • Develop documentation for VM, Linux and Windows Systems as needed.

  • Maintain necessary systems configuration and infrastructure on campus for enterprise applications.

  • Works with other system administrators and 3rd party support vendors to maintain continuity of operations.

  • Work with the team and campus to plan, implement, maintain and assess necessary technology infrastructure requirements to meet the strategic goals of the college.

  • Assist with escalated Help Desk Tickets and work with IT Team to install, configure, upgrade and troubleshoot technologies around campus.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent combination of training and experience, as well as any relevant certifications.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience and/or demonstrated ability in the areas listed below:

  • Hyper-V Administration

  • Windows Server Administration

  • Microsoft Active Directory

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • Azure

  • Office 365 with DirSync

  • Knowledge of Single Sign On (SSO) integration processes, and Windows based security methods.

  • LDAP and SAML

  • Certificate Authority (Stand Alone and Wildcard)

  • RADIUS

  • Microsoft IIS

  • Group Policy

  • DHCP/DNS

  • Integration systems and the configuration of APIs

  • Backup Systems

  • Computer Imaging/Software Deployment Systems (Windows Deployment Services)

  • Ability to design, lead, and see projects through from inception to completion.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to correspond clearly and in a timely manner.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills and a desire to work with faculty, staff, and students.

  • Ability to work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive workplace.

  • Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of a team.

  • Ability to assess, prioritize, and manage tasks with appropriate attention to detail.

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends and to travel as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA A+ and Server + Certification

  • Fluent in one or more programming languages (PHP, Visual Basic, etc.).

  • Fluent with one or more scripting languages (PowerShell, VBscript, etc.).

  • Fluent with SQL

  • Experience with cloud technologies including Saas, PaaS, iPaaS, and laaS architectures and how they integrate with on-campus infrastructure (storage, authentication, single sign on, etc.).

  • Experience in cabling and networking configuration.

  • Higher education experience.
