Technology Security Associates, Inc Program Protection Security Specialist in Patuxent River, Maryland

JHNA Technology Security is currently seeking a Program Protection Security Specialist, Senior level, to support our government customer at NAS Patuxent River, MD. Selected applicant will serve as a Security Specialist assigned to the Physical, Communications, Personnel and Operations Security Division for Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD).

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide security support regarding Foreign Visitors, Operations Security, and Physical Security to the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program.
  • Develop and conduct security training to JSF leadership, federal staff, contractors, and international visitors.
  • Develop security processes and procedures for the continuously evolving JSF operational environment according to Department of Defense (DoD) and Navy regulations and policies.
  • Conduct Physical and Communication security audits and inspections to ensure 100 percent compliance.
  • Conduct reviews of current policies and procedures and provide findings and recommendations to JSF leadership.
  • Serve as an advisor on all DoD, U.S. Navy, and local security instructions and implementation procedures to JSF leadership, staff, contractors, and foreign visitors regarding installation access.
  • Verify security clearances for all JSF visitors, partners, and contractor support personnel via DISS.
  • Conduct annual and ad hoc security training regarding OPSEC, Foreign Travel, and Physical and Information Security for all JSF personnel.
  • Receive and process information from foreign embassies for high level, sensitive and unclassified visits via the Foreign Visit Request System.
  • Submit time sensitive requests in APACS to foreign embassies for the approval of JSF/ITF personnel to travel to foreign countries on official government business.
  • Manage a key control program to allow the electronic tracking of all keys, key custodians to issue keys from queue when needed and the ability to return the key to the queue during personnel checkout.
  • Issue visitor passes to JSF foreign and domestic visitors.
  • Serve as the TASS Trusted Agent (TA). Liaison between DMDC, the TASM and the CAC applicant. Provide CAC applicants with instructions on the process of obtaining a CAC to prevent delay or work stoppage.
  • Serve as the Local Element for JSF, responsible for management and accountability of all COMSEC devices and materials. Provide periodic physical security measures in accountability of COMSEC Devices, keys, CAC, and other controlled items.
  • Administer security plans, programs, and policies for program personnel and facilities. Manage Program Security requirements to include physical, information, and personnel matters.
  • Maintain compliance with the US Government security regulations and directives. Participate in compliance assessment reviews and perform self-inspections to ensure compliance with government and company regulations/requirements. Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective action.
  • Complete daily facility inspection checklists, manage door/safe combinations, etc. to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements.
  • Conduct clearance verifications via the DISS or NBIS.
  • Conduct Security Education and Training Awareness (SETA) specific to the PEO needs. Conduct indoctrination briefings for newly assigned personnel instructing individuals on the requirements for safeguarding program documentation and facility security policies.
  • Prepare, review, and submit CDRLs, DD-254s and Statements of Work (SOW). Coordinate with prime contractor(s) and review sub-contracts to ensure security compliance with government regulations/requirements.
  • Maintain document and material accountability program, oversee secure storage and workspaces for customers and company, conduct annual inventory of accountable material. Ensures that all classified materials held by the site are compliant with the regulations and directives, which govern m rking, handling, controlling, removing, transporting, sanitizing, reusing, and destroying classified information and equipment containing classified information.
  • Resolve other related program Security issues as required. Additional tasking as required.

Qualifications Required:

  • 10 or more years of experience in DoD/DoN Acquisition Security OR related security experience, OR a MA/MS. An allowable substitution is an BA/BS degree plus 6 years of experience with DoN/DoD Acquisition Security.
  • Requires ability to develop, implement and maintain a multi-disciplined security program for complex, major acquisition programs.
  • Working knowledge of NISPOM, DoDM 5200.01 Vol. 1-3, DODI 5200.02 and DoDI 5200.48 security standards.
  • Thorough working knowledge of OPSEC, PERSEC, INFOSEC, PHYSEC
  • Familiarity with DD-254 Requirements.
  • Strong writing ability and be comfortable with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Outlook, MS Teams and be familiar with using Sharepoint functions.
  • Strong initiative with ability to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Problem solving/process improvement skills.
  • Interim clearance required to start.

    • Introduction to Risk Management (GS150.06)
    • Introduction to Information Security (IF011.16)
    • Introduction to Physical Security (PY011.16)
    • Developing a Security Education and Training Program (GS104.16)
  • A strong administrative skillset.
