About being our Project Analyst

As the Project Analyst, you will be responsible for providing analytical support for a variety of transportation projects, providing support that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the Project Manager and functional team members. You will work closely with the Caltrans team and internal stakeholders to analyze project data, identify trends, and develop recommendations to improve project delivery performance.

Responsibility Highlights for our Project Analyst

  • Provide analytical support for a portfolio of transportation projects through the various phases of project development (initiation, planning, design, right of way, construction, and close-out)
  • Analyze the project data to identify trends and develop insights into project performance
  • Develop and maintain project metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project progress
  • Support the development of project schedules and budgets, and assist with ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Assist with reporting project risks and issues, and support the development of mitigation strategies as needed
  • Ensure that all project documentation is complete and up to date, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and status reports
  • Coordinate with other Caltrans departments and external agencies to ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with state and federal regulations and guidelines
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders, including project sponsors, management, and the public
  • Report project control strategies around schedule control, risk management, change management, forecasting and fiscal reporting for the program
  • Support overlapping project tasks, issue management, meeting facilitation, document control and monthly status reporting to the Project Management Team and client
  • Collaborate and support tracking and control of project budgets, assist in developing project control reports, obtain relevant documentation, and track project correspondence
  • Assist program management team with assigned project(s), tracking and following up on financial, schedule, and project deliverable management
  • Coordinate and plan staff meetings

Minimum Qualifications to be our Project Analyst

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in related field of Management, Planning, Finance, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience in Project Management and Project Controls principles and have the ability to report and coordinate with Project Team Members
  • Ability to work within the Client's District Office
