Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring that the workplace is compliant with health and safety regulations, developing and implementing safety policies, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. This role involves coordinating safety training programs, conducting safety audits, and serving as a liaison between management and employees on safety-related issues.

Duties include:

• Develop and Implement Safety Policies:

• • Update, and enforce company safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Enforce emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.

• Safety Training and Education:

• • Organize and facilitate safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing education.
  • Maintain records of safety training and certifications.

• Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections:

• • Perform regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices.
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure that safety equipment and PPE are available and properly maintained.

• Incident Investigation and Reporting:

• • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on findings, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain records of all safety-related incidents.

• Regulatory Compliance:

• • Stay current with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all applicable safety standards and regulations.
  • Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and audits.

• Safety Communication and Culture:

• • Promote a culture of safety through regular communication, awareness campaigns, and leadership.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding safety concerns or suggestions.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to safety initiatives.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field, preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
• 2-3 years of experience in a safety administration or related role.
• Experience in conducting audits.
• Ability to speak to small/medium groups effectively.
• Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) preferred.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations, knowledge of HAZMAT and EPA regulations.
• Drug screen and background check required.

Salary Range: The salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary for this position which is $20.00/hr.-$25.00/hr.--DOE
