Job Description

An employer in the Houston, TX area is looking for an Automation Controls Engineer to join their team. This person will be responsible for implementation of Allen Bradley PLC projects related to new or modified facilities. This work may include PLC logic design, network configuration, field device configuration Flow computers, VFDs and other activities in accordance with the companys SCADA policies, procedures, and standards. The day-to-day duties will include but not be limited to designing and testing of Allen Bradley PLCs, implementing of PLC Logic and related automation network, participating in the analysis, review and design of Safe Chart drawing, and conducting factory acceptance testing. Candidate will also be providing SCADA system administration, management, and support functions where support includes day-to-day activities required to support the departments that use the SCADA System. This individual must have strong written and verbal communication and be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment. Based on knowledge and years of experience, this position offers a pay range of $65-78/hr.

Skills and Requirements

3-5 years of experience PLC programming experience

3+ years of experience working with Allen Bradley Controllogix

3+ year of experience working with Modbus, TCP/IP, VFDs and Flow computers

3+ years of direct experience creating Controllogix Add On Instruction and configuring Ethernet/IP network

Strong knowledge and understanding of IT, SCADA, and network architectural standards

Understanding of PID loops SCADA or Automation related experience in liquid terminals Industries

Python scripting experience

Hands on experience working with HMI software specifically AVEVA

Networking experience within a Telecom department or similar

Vapor Combustion and Vapor Recovery experience

Previous O&G industry experience null
