Langan is seeking a Tax Manager to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will provide day to day support to the Corporate Controller and CFO for all tax related activities, including tax planning, compliance, and reporting. Responsible for multiple entities federal and state income tax returns preparation in coordination with independent public accountants. Preparation and filing of all other tax and compliance records along with support of the monthly accounting close and year-end audit. This role will work closely and in coordination with Sr. Compliance Manager who handles firm wide financial compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive the corporate tax reporting and filing working with external tax advisors ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations;

  • Manage annual federal income and state tax returns preparation including K-1s in coordination with the Independent Public Accountants;

  • Manage basis calculations for LLCs and S Corporations;

  • File all State and Local excise/franchise/business tax returns and US census filings. Maintain copies of completed tax forms and related documents for reporting and auditing purposes. Respond to communication from regulatory agencies;

  • Conduct the annual R&D tax credit identification and coordination;

  • Ensure the compilation and filing of annual tax residency certificates;

  • Conduct tax research and analysis to stay up to date on changes in tax laws and regulations on federal, state and local tax compliance laws;

  • Establish and sustain standard operating procedures for tax policies and protocols;

  • Responsible for supervising accounting staff, which includes coaching, training and performance management; including conducting performance review meetings, providing performance feedback and recommendations for improvement and mentoring for professional growth; and

  • Perform other duties as requested.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or taxation;

  • 7+ years of related experience;

  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations;

  • Private Company and Partnership experience;

  • CPA Certificate Preferred;

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy;

  • Superior interpersonal skills;

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, planning and organizational skills;

  • Sound judgment capability and ability to maintain confidentiality;

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Tax Software; and

  • Knowledge of SAP and/or Deltek Vision software, preferred.
