Sr. Software Engineer
Overview:
Essential Functions
The Senior Software Engineer position is responsible for the development and testing of mission critical software in our Control Actuation Systems (CAS) group. This individual will be part of a development team creating embedded software for the manipulation and control of flight actuation systems. Activities for this role include requirements gathering and definition, software development, code management, code review, software testing, release documentation and system validation. This individual will play a key role on high priority programs and have significant interactions with system engineers and test engineers.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering
Development experience in C
Experience developing software using a formal Software Development Life Cycle process (SDLC)
Experience developing software tests and performing software verification
5+ years of experience embedded systems programming
Experience debugging embedded systems (jtag, emulators)
Strong documentation and writing skills
Ability to work closely with a team of engineers and technicians and comfortable in laboratory environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with microcontrollers, DSPs, and assembly language
Experience with other programming languages (C++, Java, Python etc…)
Experience with RTCA DO-178C software certification process
Experience in a CMMI development environment
Experience in code optimization and profiling
Ability to read and follow electronic schematics
Familiarity with MISRA C (and related tools) and LDRA tools
Work Environment
This job interacts in a professional office environment, engineering lab, and manufacturing environments. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, hand tools, test equipment, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing, ESD and foot protection (as required).
Minimal travel expected for this position (<10%).

Job may require Lab bench work, including manipulation of small objects and use of hand tools and test equipment
The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time during prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
This position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location.
