The team is responsible for shielding the company’s systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG’s businesses to achieve their goals. AIG’s Information Technology functions include enterprise architecture, software and systems engineering, cybersecurity, and technology risk and compliance.
About the role
The Senior Technical Delivery Lead, Lexington, leads a team accountable for technology, program and project delivery, development, technology standards, security and innovation for the Lexington Business. In this role, you will be responsible for building business cases for technology investment, shaping and delivering IT projects and programs, and assessing the priority of IT activity in line with business needs. This role is also accountable for the day to day IT operations of the WINS platform and you will work closely with the other areas of IT and Infrastructure organizations to ensure that service is monitored and maintained within agreed tolerances, and that all business critical services are proactively patched and updated in line with Architectural and IT Security standards.
You will have management responsibilities for a team of technology resources who will interact with key business leads on a variety of levels, with a strong focus on managing IT Risk and Compliance controls. The successful incumbent must have strong leadership and influencing skills and be a strategic thinker.
What you need to know:
Accountable for all deliverables from the technology team, developing new capabilities and providing changes to existing capabilities as it relates to the WINS platform. Ensuring effective planning, communication and estimation are a key focus.
Responsible for all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle
Will be accountable for the design decisions made in the delivery of new capabilities, ensuring all impacts are understood, security best practices are built in and there is full alignment with IT Risk and Compliance controls.
A key contributor within the IT group, providing leadership to the wider team and helping to drive the strategic vision of the business.
Accountable for the day to day operations and support of the WINS platform, ensuring service levels are adhered to and supporting processes are executed effectively.
Provide expert technical leadership to the delivery team, with a deep level understanding of the platform and business objectives.
Excellent collaboration skills, partnering with the Operations and Business units to enable the effective delivery of change.
Responsible for all managerial aspects of the WINS platform team. Ensuring effective resourcing, planning, education and team development.
Make day-to-day decisions on the operational elements of the technology team’s deliverables, managing escalations received from the business.
Accountable for documentation deliverables and adherence to company policies.
What we’re looking for:
Detailed understanding and experience of the entire WINS platform and its constituent modules.
Proven experience with AS400 platforms and their associated technologies
15+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, 10+ years of industry experience
Experience of leading an IT function, working in matrix managed environments, with effective stakeholder management that can result in multiple changes.
Strong leadership/influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience of managing and developing a team.
Team player, with the ability to work effectively in challenging and complex environments
Clear and confident communicator, ability to challenge and influence change at all levels within the organization.
Strong inter-personal skills, must be able to facilitate meetings with Business stake holders. A background combining hands-on design, development experience and team/program management expertise at a senior level.
Excellent analysis, design, problem solving, application development and implementation skills within Insurance and Financial applications.
The base salary range for this position in Jersey City, NJ, is $ 99,000 143,000 . In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
