Senior GIS Solutions Engineer (Parsippany, NJ)Develop custom GIS desktop, mobile, and web mapping applications. Perform server maintenance, software conversions, and general support to users in the company to eliminate inefficiencies and foster growth. Assist in spatial database creation, maintenance, and optimization. Perform high level of software troubleshooting and identify inefficiencies. Perform capacity planning assessments and ensure technology is on par with or exceeds current user levels. Conduct system/software maintenance (service packs, BMP’s, upgrades, etc.). Develop and maintain client web portals associated with GIS mapping. Develop and maintain mobile applications for iOS and Android using Esri Field Maps and Esri Survey123. Create and maintain dashboards and data visualizations for use by project teams. Support the Enterprise GIS platform by performing administrative tasks such as licensing, content maintenance, web service and application troubleshooting, and task automation. Enhance and maintain Langan Projects website for project tracking. Educate project teams on what software will best suit the needs of the projects and help convert any existing data into the appropriate format. Provide datasets to clients in a variety of electronic GIS/CAD formats that are commonly used. Creates ArcGIS Enterprise task automation scripts using Python, ArcPy, and the ArcGIS for Python API. Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments to assist in defining potential applications to develop to streamline processes. Develop and recommend new approaches and ideas that continuously improve efficiency and services performed. Write and maintain high-quality documentation on usage and workflows of mobile applications, web applications, and field data collection activities. Promote the Applied Technologies team throughout Langan by giving demos, presentations, and training to technical and non-technical users. Work with GIS Analysts to develop new tools to assist in daily workflows. Works with GIS Manager and Corporate Leader to design and maintain client websites. May work remotely.Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Information Systems, Environmental Studies, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or another related discipline, as well as 2 years of GIS experience. Must have experience with: developing and implementing GIS applications, including web-based with the ArcGIS JavaScript API; computer programming directly related to the development of tools and applications using Python, JavaScript, or .Net; Esri products 10.x or higher, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, and Configurable Apps; Esri Field Apps, including Survey 123 and Field Maps; Geo processing tool creation and server-side development experience with ArcPy and C#.Net; modern development tools, e.g. NodeJS, virtual environments, Version Control, etc.; Cloud experience with AWS or Azure; deep learning with GeoAI; ArcGIS AppStudio with Qt; and, developing responsive and mobile-ready applications using React, SQL, Enterprise Geodatabases; and, ArcSDE.Resumes to Langan Engineering & Environmental Services LLC at: careers@Langan.com.
