Senior Electrical Engineer (Power & Actuation Systems)
Overview:
Marotta Controls is looking for an experienced Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our world-class team of engineers. The team is responsible for designing and developing Marotta products for aerospace and military weapon systems, which includes missiles, guided rockets, smart munitions, and more. This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most experienced, talented, and fastest growing teams in the industry.
Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:
Design of electronic circuits, circuit card assemblies systems, software code or mechanical structures
Design analysis, including control system, component stress, thermal and component tolerance analysis, thermal and mechanical stress, software code metrics, as applicable
Coordinating the creation of a preliminary bill of material in the business system and verifying its accuracy
Create development testing requirements, development test instructions, and release of drawings for development hardware
Maintain ongoing surveillance of customer-driven changes, with written notification to Contracts Administrator or Program Manager, including program impact assessment
Ensure accuracy of all drawings/documents on the project, except purely drafting technique issues.
Communicate technical and schedule problems, in a timely manner, to Engineering Manager / Director, Contracts Administrator, and Program Manager when applicable
Support Operations in problems which arise in the production of existing products as the need arises
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of experience designing electrical circuits in aerospace.
New Product Development experience in aerospace/military industry.
Ability to effectively communicate, plan, organize work in one or more projects concurrently.
Experience in designing and testing analog, power, control and digital circuits.
Experience with electric motor drives preferred.
Strong documentation and writing skills.
Ability to work closely with a team of engineers and technicians and comfortable in laboratory environment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Must be a US Citizen
Work Environment:
This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
This is a full-time position. Overtime and weekend work may be required, as job duties demand.
This position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location.
