Job Summary:
The Sales Development Representative I position is a critical team member of our Commercial Sales Development team based in our Corporate Headquarters in Parsippany, NJ.
This exciting position will work to strengthen our presence in the Commercial Roofing industry and within identified target account groups to maximize all potential opportunities provided. This role will work multiple sides of the customer interface to assure GAF Commercial bid and job securement opportunities and support strategic sales growth initiatives.
Essential Duties
Direct Product/Opportunity Sales - Increase sales by closely monitoring job activity as reported on websites.
Cold calling building owners, property managers & other roofing.
Qualifying leads provided internally via marketing and field sales reps. prospect and qualify new opportunities through multiple programs and other methods of investigation.
Generate new and repeat sales by driving specification opportunities through cold calling campaigns
Determine customer needs, requirements, and expectations in order to present insights and recommend specific products and solutions.
Recommend alternative product solutions based on customer options.
Proactively “sell” items needed by customers to increase profitability and customer satisfaction; resulting in strengthened customer loyalty.
Fostering Product Awareness - Understand product selling stories and communicate to assure specification opportunities and build customer loyalty.
Utilize SalesForce to keep detailed notes and information on existing and potential customers – for corporate transparency and use by all who touch customers.
Educatecustomersaboutterminology,featuresandbenefitsofproductsinorderto improve product related sales and customer satisfaction when necessary.
Communicate with customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any issues or complaints.
Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
Create, align, and maintain customer files in SalesForce on new targets/accounts not previously known or recognized.
Maintain and increase industry knowledge by reading trade publications and by attending meetings, vendor training and trade shows as applicable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Under This Roof, We Require
- Bachelor’s Degree required or 3-5 years related experience

Strong computer skills including Google Business Suite.
Experience with SalesForce, a plus.
Workingknowledgeandabilitytopickupandlearnconsumerpreferences,product developments and solutions.
Advanced knowledge of order life cycle and commercial sales cycle.
Strongprofessionalcommunicationandpresentationskillsviaphone,emailandin person.
Ability to multi-task and work independently.
