Dates of Need: 3/5/2025-11/15/2025. This application encompasses general farm work including the planting, growing and harvesting of onions, potatoes, carrot seed, sugar beets, pea seed, wheat, bean seed, alfalfa, corn seed, and shallots. This job requires a minimum of 3 months of general farm labor experience. The lifting requirement for this position is 60 pounds.

Workers may also:\ 1.Operate or maintain equipment used in agricultural production and field preparation such as tractors, irrigation equipment, 4-wheelers, non-CDL, farm exempt trucks, and other commonly used equipment in agriculture.\ 2.Drive, load/unload non-CDL required, farm exempt trucks.\ 3.Operate tractors to assist in planting, harvest, mowing, weed spray and maintenance of fields and pastures.\ 4.Transport crops to market, operate forklift/auger to transfer commodities to and from trucks.\ 5.Transfer commodities from bins/boxes/totes to remove debris; place commodities into tote/box/bin and stack in designated areas.\ 6.Load and mix chemicals to spray weeds with handheld/backpack sprayer, or vehicle sprayer\ 7.Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers.\ 8.Workers may also clear debris and garbage from fields and clean/maintain farm buildings, structures, equipment, and work areas.\ 9.Remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farm grounds; remove rocks from fields.\ 10.Paint, repair/maintain farm structures; replace/repair fencing.\ 11.Use a hoe, shovel or hands to pull and remove weeds and undesirable vegetation.\ 12.Digging ditch, digging corrugates, or ditch repair (assist in removing large pieces of concrete, reset and seal cracks that may leak).

Planting:\ 1.Field maintenance and weeding using hands, machinery, and sprayers.\ 2.Loading seed into planters.\ 3.Walking behind planters to insure proper procedure.\ 4.Operating equipment for the use of planting.\ Onion Harvest:\ 1.Culling onions.\ 2.Riding on harvester.\ 3.Binning onions during the harvest/unloading process, and removal of foreign objects.\ 4.Maintenance of bins and transport of bins to appropriate storage facilities.\ 5.Onion hand harvest (top and sack produce).\ Potato harvest: unloading potatoes and remove foreign objects from potato line.\ Harvest:\ 1.Workers must stand for long periods of time removing foreign objects from all produce and fields.\ 2.Workers will assist in setting up sorting equipment, assist in repair of equipment, in addition to being able to identify potential problems and notify management.

The anticipated hours listed represent the normal work schedule. Due to the nature of these crops, weather, and the requirement to send crops to customers when needed, it is the prevailing practice to work more or different hours than those listed. A worker may be offered more than the specified hours of work; however, the worker will not be required to work for more than the number of hours specified in the job order, or on the workers Sabbath or Federal holidays. Saturday work may be required. Workday start times vary depending on the weather. depending on the time of year, hours of daylight, and production requirements. There may be periods when little or no work will be available due to weather, time of year, and the requirements of the cropping or growing season. Workers must be able to work varying shifts as required by the season and work performed. Workers are notified of any change in the start times. Work may be performed during rain, light snow, cold, freezing temperatures and/or in high humidity and in temperatures over a 100 degrees F. Worker may be required to work in fields when crops are wet with dew/rain and should have suitable clothing for variable weather conditions. Workers must po sess requisite physical strength and endurance to repeat the harvest process throughout the workday. Workers must work at a sustained, vigorous pace and make bona-fide efforts to work efficiently and consistently that are reasonable under the climatic and all other working conditions. Workers may never ride on agricultural equipment not designed for work related riding purposes or any other non-passenger intended equipment unless instructed and authorized by the employer or supervisor to do so. Workers with valid drivers licenses and that are insurable may transport workers, equipment, supplies or crop. All work-related injuries must be immediately reported to the crew leader, foreman, or supervisor. Employer-paid drug test may be required if a worker has an accident at work.
