To learn OD operations and culture and complete several projects throughout the internship eventually “filling-in” for the operations supervisor during the last few weeks of the program.

Primary Responsibilities

• Learn the dock operations by shadowing the SVC Operations Supervisor

• Participate in monitoring the daily safety of each employee

• Learn and participate in evaluating and teaching safe lifting techniques

• Learn proper loading and unloading techniques and ensure compliance

• Learn how to manage employee work schedules and time off request

• Learn the service center operations and make suggestions for improvements

• Learn DOT and OSHA regulations and ensure compliance

• Learn AS400, BLU system, DYMS and all other computer/internal freight monitoring systems

• Learn to operate a forklift

Job Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent, currently attending college
