Chemours is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join our growing Manufacturing Technology team. This position will be available at the Washington Works site in Parkersburg, WV and report directly to the Monomer Manufacturing Technology Manager.
This role performs engineering assignments (production, maintenance, process, capital projects, etc.) involving the application of established chemical technology and principles. This work often requires coordination with other engineering and functional competencies to provide economical and expedient task implementation. This role may also be assigned to lead the Process Engineering function associated with major capital projects and will also lead commissioning, startups, and troubleshooting activities.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to support and improve efficiency of the manufacturing facilities
Daily monitoring of chemical process performance in the facility
Work with plant operational teams to facilitate continuous improvement efforts related to process performance
Implementation of detailed projects covering chemical aspects of manufacturing
Develop preventive and predictive programs for the process engineering scope
Participate in project teams and all activities related to process engineering technical support
Process documentation; including P&IDs and Block Flow Diagrams
Design and development of operations protocols, processing equipment installations and plant upgrades related to chemical processes
To conduct field assessments and audits on processing equipment
To lead and implement all Chemours standard/policy related to equipment installations and maintenance
The following is required for this role:
Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
Exposure to chemical processing methodology and problem-solving methods.
Meaningful values on safety awareness, implementation, and improvement
Proficient in typical business software such as Microsoft Office, etc. Thorough communication skills, verbal and written.
The following is preferred for this role:
3-5years of professional chemical engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with plant chemical process equipment maintenance and troubleshooting:
Reaction vessels, auto-claves, poly-kettles, etc.
Tanks, heat exchangers, vessels, piping, etc.
Flow, pressure, temperature, level, etc. meters/systems
Control valves and process-control devices
Process Control & Safety Interlock Systems
Exposure to Process Safety Management methodologies & controls

$81,715.00 - $127,680.00
