Hope Harbor Program Coordinator in Parker, South Dakota

Hope Harbor is a Christian nonprofit ministry operating a group home for teen boys with emphasis on the engagement, supervision, and guidance of teens and families in the areas of life skills, social skills, daily living, and spiritual growth. Our Parker, South Dakota location serves boys ages 12-17 up to 12 residents at a time.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overseeing of the residential program, providing case management for residents, advising and training direct care staff and managing the facility as a home. This position offices on site with typical hours of most weekdays 8am-5pm, with one afternoon, evening or weekend shift work weekly, and rotating on call response.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Program management duties (client interviews, goals planning, measurement of client needs, preparing reports, facilitating meetings, communication with parents, assist with crisis response and debriefing).
  • Staff training duties (utilize leadership skills to direct staff to serve clients, maintain best practices for care, implement resources and trainings, coordinate volunteers).
  • House management responsibilities (evaluate program policies, oversee client and house supplies, manage medication, oversee emergency procedures, maintain reporting and documentation).
  • Other responsibilities (attend meetings, use personal gifts to promote the organization, set goals, other needs as they arise or are assigned).

The ideal candidate has:

  • Strong Christian faith and value system
  • Bachelors degree in counseling, sociology, administration, social work, ministry or other related field
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health needs and/or experience in direct services, program development or case management
  • At least 21 years of age, pass a background check, passion for working in a nonprofit setting
