The role you’ll contribute:
Under the direct supervision of assigned physician(s), responsible for the provision of professional, quality medical care to patients based on structured guidelines and protocols. Supports the physician and other medical providers in the care and treatment of patients through a variety of means including rooming the patient, taking vital signs, collecting, and recording data, communicating delays to patient, provider and team members, and facilitating patient flow. Facilitates, communicates, and collaborates with the physician and office team to identify and meet the physical and emotional needs of the patient and to promote/restore optimal health and well-being of the patient. Performs a wide variety of patient care support activities including scheduling ordered tests and exams, scheduling surgery, and obtaining pre-authorizations from insurance carriers. Assumes lead responsibility for the safety program of the practice, maintenance of established documentation standards by clinical support staff, and validation of clinical competencies. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Assists in the identification of a database for the patient or family based on the assessment of health needs.
Demonstrates the proficient application of required clinical competencies utilized in the orthopedic practice setting and validates clinical skills and competencies of the medical assistants working in the practice, including competence in point of care testing.
Effectively performs a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to wound care, medication administration, specimen collection, and minor orthopedic procedures.
Ensures maintenance of a safe and therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
High School Diploma/G.E.D.
Licensed Practical Nurse. LPN license to practice in Colorado or Kansas as applicable.
Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association.
