Position Summary:

Under close supervision, performs office and clerical work of moderate difficulty related to property assessment, property tax relief programs, deed transfers and assessor property records; performs related work as required or assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Search for information and disburse information;
• process documents to update and maintain parcel records, property ownership, and records for appraisal division;
• process applications for property tax relief programs; process recorded documents to determine legal condition of property and ownership;
• process appropriate instruments to complete splits or combination of parcels; assist public in use of GIS and computer facilities;
• answer incoming calls; receive, sort file and retrieve forms, correspondence and documents, compile reports and summaries of work;
• update, check and complete records, forms and documents;
• operate a variety of office equipment and computer assisted mass appraisal software.
• Conducts public outreach meetings regarding various assessor functions.

• Ability to understand and follow oral or written procedures.
• Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with employees, other agencies, and the public.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to make accurate math calculations.
• Ability to work independently exercising judgement and initiative.
• Ability to perform clerical tasks with speed, accuracy and understanding.
• Knowledge of computer applications
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
