Hyatt Director of Group Sales in PARK CITY, Utah

Description:

The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is in the famed Deer Valley ski resort and approximately 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport. The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is part of a new development, planned to incorporate 17 ski lifts, ±1,600 residential units, 8 hotels with a total of ±1,350 rooms, ±250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the largest “ski beaches” in the world.

The Grand Hyatt is comprised of 436 luxury accommodations including 381 guest rooms, 55 residences and 22 suites with approximately 30,000 square feet of versatile indoor meeting space, lobby level 3-meal restaurant and bar, signature bar, pool/après ski bar and grill, coffee bistro, large outdoor event terrace, pool and 3 whirlpools, kids club, and fitness area.

The Director of Group Sales will report to the Area Director of Sales and Marketing and is responsible for overseeing the resort's group sales strategy, ensuring sales goals are met and revenues maximized. In this capacity, the Director of Group Sales will review the group contractual agreement process, drive group revenue strategies, and gain customer loyalty. This individual will also lead, develop, and oversee the group sales managers and sales administrative staff. Collaboration with other departments within the resort, including Sales, Revenue Management, Reservations, and Events, is essential.

Strong communication and organizational skills are vital for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading the group sales efforts of a luxury resort, achieving goals, and retaining clients. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to meet a specified sales quota. This role will entail periodic travel within the country for conferences, tradeshows, networking, and property visits.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in group sales, preferably in a luxury hotel or upscale setting.

· Demonstrated history of hotel sales success

· Able to train and monitor the process of sending referrals, setting traces and profiling accounts.

· Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line

· Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills

· Ability to craft, develop, and implement successful sales strategies

· Excellent analytical, sales and negotiating skills with an established history of driving results

· Ability to navigate high-pressure scenarios and adhere to tight deadlines

· Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor and develop team members

· Articulate in both written and spoken communication

· Working proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Service oriented style with professional presentations skills

· Perform other duties assigned by Manager
