Job Description

Pay Rate: $124000 to a maximum of $150000 Per Year.

Position Purpose:

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting for Debt Issuances and subsequent Accounting, Non-Income Tax, Regulatory Accounting and other general accounting in accordance with US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS"). Supports the preparation of consolidated financial statements, commission reports, implementation of rate cases and other activities as instructed by the supervisor. This function interacts with executives, peers, subordinates and external auditors on key financial matters, budgeting process and information technology issues and provides support to business development and other finance departments.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Review and approve journal entries, ensuring compliance with internal controls.

  • Perform key account analyses and review account reconciliations.

  • Analyze financial statements and prepare variance analyses for P&L and balance sheet accounts.

  • Manage rate case support for assigned functional financial line items.

  • Assist with rate case implementation, including preparation and review of accounting memorandums.

  • Review financial statements, regulatory reports, and related work papers.

  • Establish, evaluate, and update accounting processes, practices, and policy documentation.

  • Ensure financial statement accuracy and compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.

  • Identify and develop process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Collect and analyze data for robotic process automation and validation.

  • Train and supervise staff.

  • Participate in special projects as assigned by management.

Additional Detail:

  • This is a hybrid position.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field required.

  • Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or CPA license preferred.

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience, including people management.

  • CPA with at least 3 years of experience at a Big 4 or national accounting firm preferred.

  • Experience in corporate and/or multi-subsidiary environments preferred.

  • Experience with data visualization and robotic process automation a plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS rules and regulations.

  • Strong understanding of regulated utilities accounting and ASC 980 highly desirable.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage effectively through ambiguity and complexity.

  • Strong analytical skills for developing and enhancing business automations to drive optimization.

  • Excellent execution and follow-through skills, with attention to documentation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google Workspace.

  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft, PowerPlan, and UiPath systems a plus.
