The Packager operates machines and equipment to package products for storage or shipment.
Role & Responsibilities
Load materials and products into packaging equipment.
Sort and inspect products, visually verifying products meet specifications.
Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as box misalignment, jams, or glue that isn't adhering properly.
Create and attach appropriate labels to finished packaged items.
Stock and sort product for packaging or filling machine operation, and replenish packaging supplies, such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, labels, or hardware.
Package the product in the form in which it will be shipped, for example, inserting part into Martin boxes and containers.
Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
Remove finished packaged items from machine and separate rejected items.
Count and record finished and rejected packaged items.
Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
Stack finished packaged items, or wrap protective material around each item, and pack the items in cartons or containers.
Responsible for adhering to the safety and environmental policies and regulations,
R esponsible for adherence to company policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Applicants must be able to work 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, some overtime will be required.
Ability to work in a team setting.
Ability to effectively communicate with Managers, Supervisors and fellow employees.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK SETTING
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and adhere to safe workplace practices.
Ability to position self to move and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand for entire shift.
