What will you do?

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating the installation, maintenance, and repair work of all facilities and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; supervising staff.

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.

  • Scheduling and assigning work to direct reports ensuring sufficient support is provided for maintenance of facility and operations

  • Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.

  • Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a predictive maintenance program and a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.

  • Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.

  • Conduct timely, meaningful, and effective Performance Management Program reviews for all direct reports. Administer goal accountability, recognition, and disciplinary action for direct reports as necessary.

  • Identify capability needs and skill gaps within the Maintenance Department as a whole and with department individuals. Create & manage realistic training and development plans to close these skill gaps and expand individual and team capabilities.

  • Understand OSHA standards and regulations pertaining to the scope of responsibility for the maintenance function such as Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space, Hazardous Materials, etc. Ensure maintenance team training, certification, and compliance with these OSHA standards and regulations.

  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.

  • Engage all direct reports in daily Safety Meetings and ongoing team communications.

  • Ensure all direct reports understand and comply with the standards and principles of safety, quality, cost/efficiency, teamwork, customer service, respect & courtesy.

  • Track and monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance work order system and implement system improvements to eliminate deficiencies.

  • Collect and analyze cost data associated with maintenance labor, tools, supplies, and materials used. Report maintenance cost information to plant management with cost reduction recommendations.

  • Update professional job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

  • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • 2-3 years effective leadership or supervisory experience in a technical industrial manufacturing environment

  • Experience with and thorough understanding of industrial electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs

  • Able to prioritize, plan and effectively delegate work to maintenance team members.

  • Able to collect and analyze technical data and information

  • Able to understand, collect and analyze relevant financial information associated with the maintenance function

  • Must be able to work a standard daily work schedule to support the production operations. Be able to work additional hours as necessary to fulfill responsibilities.

  • Ability to work in a team setting, motivate team members, and to communicate effectively with employees at all levels practicing Courtesy and Respect

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK SETTING

  • Walking and standing are required for a majority of the work requirements.

  • Sitting for prolonged periods may be occasionally required.

  • Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching is required.

  • Responsibilities require frequent reaching and twisting and working with hands.

  • Ability to use manual and electronic hand tools

  • May be required to manually push, pull, lift and carry light to moderate-weighted objects.

  • Climbing ladders or stairs is occasionally required.

  • Ability to visually read printed material, labels, signs, electronic screens, control panels and gauges.

  • Ability to see details at close range (within a foot of the observer).

  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and wear personal protective equipment as required for tasks being done.

  • Be able to work indoors or outdoors in non-controlled environmental conditions
