Job Summary:

The Custodial & Maintenance Associate is responsible for ensuring that classrooms, hallways, and common areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained. This role involves performing routine cleaning, maintenance, and repair tasks to support a safe and welcoming environment for students, teachers, and staff. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed by the Office Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Wipe down and disinfect tables, chairs, desks, and other classroom furniture to maintain a sanitary learning environment.
  • Erase and clean whiteboards/chalkboards and ensure writing surfaces are free of residue.
  • Organize classroom spaces as needed to support daily activities.
  • Hallway & Common Area Upkeep

{=html} <!-- --> - Vacuum, sweep, and mop hallways, classrooms, and common areas to maintain cleanliness. - Spot clean walls, doors, and windows to remove marks, fingerprints, or dust buildup. - Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are stored properly after use.

Trash & Waste Disposal

  • Empty trash cans and recycling bins throughout the facility.
  • Replace liners in trash receptacles and ensure proper waste segregation.
  • Dispose of garbage in designated outdoor dumpsters following waste management protocols.

Bulletin Board & Display Updates

  • Assist in creating and updating bulletin boards and displays to reflect current events, student achievements, or seasonal themes.
  • Ensure displays are visually appealing and securely attached to prevent damage or disorganization.

Routine Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform basic repairs on classroom and office furniture, including tightening screws, fixing loose components, and replacing broken parts.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on cleaning equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Report major repair needs to the Office Manager or appropriate maintenance personnel.

Additional Duties

  • Support the Office Manager with special projects or additional tasks as needed.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown when required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and cleaning standards at all times.
