Position summary

We are currently looking for a highly experienced Commodities Middle Office Analyst to be based at our Procurement Hub in Panama City, Panama.

Reporting directly to the Head of Risk & Compliance for Nestrade, you will be responsible for facilitating the execution of hedges, providing accurate and relevant reporting regarding hedging performance, and ensuring full compliance with Nestlé Accounting Standards.

A day in the life of a Commodities Middle Office Analyst

  • Performing the daily reconciliation of Commodity Derivatives, and investigating and resolving discrepancies

  • Reviewing new positions against authorised trading limits and approved policy and highlighting any deviations to Management

  • Preparing Position reports & monitoring daily margin requirements

  • Extracting daily trades from system for regulatory reporting purposes

  • Performing P&L & Market to Market reporting,and reviewing Hedge Effectiveness calculations and postings. Ensuring this impact is understood by the business

  • Middle Office activities as required (Analysis, implementation of additional controls, etc)

  • Maintaining documentation for derivatives & for Audit purposes

  • Providing training to system users and contribute to systems development

  • Ensuring derivatives compliance with guidelines, whilst focusing on simplification, standardisation and automation

What will make you successful

  • University/ Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting / Management. Accounting Certification would be an asset

  • 3-5 years experience in Finance & Control, or a Treasury related function

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office applications - in particular Excel

  • Fluency in the English language is essential (other languages are a plus)

  • Knowledge of SAP (in particular the FI and CO modules) is preferred.
