Actalent Field Technician in Panama city, Florida

Job Title: Field Technician

Job Description

Construction Inspectors spend the majority of their time working on projects performing construction-related inspections requiring specific certifications and/or experience. Perform daily inspection of construction projects monitoring quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings, and project specifications. Inspections may cross multiple inspection disciplines or within a specified area of expertise including structural steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, etc. Inspection may include visual/physical inspection and field testing to verify conformance with the plans and specifications. Prepare inspection reports and provide written documentation of observations and testing of materials. Communicate findings to the engineer or project manager and when requested collaborate with the project team on solutions to potential issues. Adhere to strict safety standards.

Hard Skills

  • Construction Inspection experience

  • ACI, ICC, NICET: Soil, Concrete, Masonry, Asphalt experience

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Reports and communication skills

Soft Skills

  • Clear documentation of findings and results

  • Basic analysis of data to verify accuracy

  • Communicate information to Project Manager and other personnel

  • Assist more inspectors on projects

  • Follow safety rules and practices

  • Pre-task planning

  • Report safety issues or concerns

  • Maintain quality standards

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Panama city, Florida.

Work Environment

Work hours are 8 am-5 pm Monday - Friday (Saturday's if needed). Work truck provided (MVR required). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Position typically works outside in field locations in varying weather conditions, hearing heavy operating equipment, in operating facilities, and adjacent to traffic ways. May need to work at heights on fixed & portable ladders, in confined/tight areas, and exposure to hostile flora and fauna. Work requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hats, safety-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection equipment, respiratory protection, and appropriate clothing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to regularly stand, walk, stoop, or kneel, crouch, or crawl and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May be subject to one or more of the following: Hazmat and respiratory medical monitoring. May require overnight travel in support of projects in varying locations.
