A Brief Overview

The Finance Business Systems Analyst supports core functions of the health system's business and financial applications to enable cost-effective, high quality, efficient, and safe patient care. This position will help implement, administer, and support assigned systems under the minimal guidance of senior members of the team. Under general supervision, this position assists address issues and design decisions of low to moderate complexity. Delivers clear communication and documentation of minimally complex concepts and issues related to applications, interfaces, data structures, and workflows across the organization. May occasionally act as a liaison between business teams, application vendors and IT for system integration, enhancements, and issue fixes. Translates minimally complex business needs and assists with making recommendations. This role will help guide the project team and assist facilitate key project meetings, communications, and working sessions.

What you will do

  • Assists with providing technology expertise, while clearly communicating technical concepts in business terms between and across different groups while influencing outcomes.

  • Ensures the formal sign-off of project documents from technical partners and business sponsors.

  • Supports software upgrade initiatives.

  • Helps ensure business requirements, as well as design sessions for all new platforms and applications.

  • Aids with new software installations and enhancement requests.

  • Reviews Technical System Design (TSD), as well as QA Test Strategy/Plan documents.

  • Maintains up-to-date project documents for all initiatives that include technical details, user expectations, project goals, work effort, accountability, and deliverables.

  • Helps identify areas of opportunity for automation and supports internal initiatives to implement them.

  • Helps identify system optimization and enhancements and collaborates with vendors and other analysts to implement effective solutions.

  • Assists with identifying trends and detecting/anticipating problems early.

  • Researches issues and assists with providing solution options (including alternative solutions when necessary to address system limitations) to minimally complex and/or controversial matters, including pros, cons, risks, benefits, costs, and unintended consequences.

  • Helps ensure every issue is well-researched and recorded.

  • Participates actively in cross-functional teams/meetings established for advancing business processes and quality outcomes through the effective and efficient use of business software.

  • Maintains appropriate meeting records.

  • Helps prepare detailed system requirement documents incorporating system impact analysis, as well as use cases.

  • Assists with evaluating cause/effects of business problems, analyzing options, and proposing solutions.

  • Conducts reviews and collaborates with varied business or system analysts, project teams, and businesses performing thorough project and organizational needs.

  • Assists with quality assurance bug resolutions and updates Functional Specification documents, as required.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Business Management, or other related field/discipline from an accredited college or university

Experience Qualifications

  • Three (3) or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience required

  • Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying

  • Experience with one (1) major implementation or upgrade preferred

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $52.64 - $69.74 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
