National Dentex Senior Staff Accountant in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Our team is growing, and we are hiring a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX National Dentex Corporate Office in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida for a Senior Staff Accountant.

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Follow National Dentex established accounting processes and procedures

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations per monthly close calendar guidelines

  • Prepare and maintain accurate accounting documents and records

  • Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies

  • Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions and reconciling items

  • Review and prepare detail for sales & use tax returns

  • Research and track sales & use tax related issues

  • Review expense coding to ensure compliance on a monthly basis

  • Review and perform variance analysis on monthly P&L statements

  • Review and analyze budget variances with location general managers and administrative staff

  • Perform monthly inventory analysis and closing

  • Cross-train with other accountants and FP&A, as needed, to provide for professional development and to maintain skills on all job-critical tasks

  • Understand and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records

  • Prepare documentation for external auditors

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be proficient and able to thrive in a fast-pace setting

  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

  • High level of oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, and meet required deadlines

  • Understanding of accounting principles and concepts

  • Self-starter with demonstrated initiative, self-motivation and assertiveness

  • Must perform duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision

  • Team player, maintaining a positive customer focus, both internally and externally

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 5-7 Years prior accounting/finance experience preferred

  • Manufacturing experience a plus

  • Previous experience with multiple reporting units and intercompany accounting

  • Oracle Financial System experience a plus

    Physical Requirements:
  • Perform tasks at workstations standing and sitting for extended periods of time. May be required to lift, push, pull, or move up to 25 pounds.
