We are currently seeking a Project Manager to join our growing team in South Florida, supporting the Everglades Restoration Program. The Project Manager will be responsible for overall project direction, completion, and financial outcome. This role involves managing owner and subcontractor relationships for assigned projects, directing and mentoring on-site staff, and demonstrating strong leadership, organizational, time management, communication, and client service skills.
Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors, strictly adhering to company safety policies and programs.
Execute Contract Documentation including Drawings, Technical Specifications, and General Conditions.
Negotiate contract modifications with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Ensure compliance with Small Business requirements.
Issue timely notices to the Owner to protect the company's interests regarding extra work, design changes, delays, and impacts.
Manage and coordinate company personnel and resources for the project.
Assist with preconstruction efforts.
Oversee all aspects of the project from inception.
Prepare and execute the Project Executive Plan.
Prepare trade contracts and bid packages, and oversee the procurement process.
Monitor project performance including project status, schedule, cost control, and change management.
Maintain relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
Attend and lead project meetings including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award.
Review inspection and test data for compliance with specifications.
Develop and maintain site logistics plan in coordination with the Superintendent.
Assist in setting up QA-QC procedures and conduct quality inspections.
Demonstrate a commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and mentoring others.
Prepare, submit, and follow up on monthly payments with the client.
Review and approve monthly subcontractor pay applications.
Review and approve vendor invoices.
Essential Skills
BS in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
5 years of experience as a Project Manager in heavy civil, earthworks, underground utilities, and/or water control structures projects.
Experience with $10+ million projects.
Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Leadership qualities and strong management skills.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with SFWMD and/or USACE is a plus.
Estimating skills.
E-Builder, eCMS, and/or RMS system experience.
Procore experience.
Bluebeam experience.
Autocad and Revit experience.
Work Environment
The Project Manager will work on-site at the job trailer, reporting to the Sr. PM with direct reports including Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, administrative staff, and a dotted line to the QC Manager. The position is exempt, with a typical job site schedule of 7am-4:30pm, but may require longer hours based on project progress, schedule, weather, etc. Weekend work may occasionally be required. Safety gear such as hard hat, steel toe boots, work pants, company shirt, safety vest, gloves, and safety glasses must be worn.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $53.00/hr.
