Job Title: Crane Operator

Job Description

Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of loads and transportation of loads. Hoist and move large industrial pipe from yard to loadout areas. Manage one ground crewman and supervise movement of loads. Inform appropriate management and line operators of hoisting of materials. Have a thorough knowledge of crane operation. Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators to assist with loading of finished product. Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation.

Hard Skills

• Proven experience as a crane operator, demonstrating strong knowledge of crane operations and safety procedures.

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception to accurately position loads and maneuver the crane.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and address any equipment malfunctions or issues.

• Ability to interpret and follow technical drawings, lifting plans, and signal communication to execute precise lifting operations.

• Experience with operation of moving or rail cranes or gantry cranes.

• Experience with rigging and hoisting loads.

• Experience with crane operation of either railway cranes or crawler cranes.

• Experience with reading load measurements.

Soft Skills

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members and follow instructions.

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Palatka, Florida.

Work Environment

Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and will be exposed to heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, confined spaces, elevated areas, dirt. Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to enter and exit crane multiple times daily.
