PROFESSIONAL PLACEMENT SERVICE LLC Accountant in Painesville, Ohio

As an established privately owned company committed to growth, we are looking for an experienced business professional to assist with a project. The ideal candidate will have the ambition and experience to recognize, analyze and work through the day-to-day business functions and activities related to a thriving 47-year-old business.

We are preparing to switch platforms and need help cleaning up our current database. This is a full-time contract position that will assist with data cleanup and maintenance. Experience working with FOCUS or PDI will be a huge plus.

Some of the required duties are very industry-specific (Petroleum, Oil & Gas) yet will still make use of general accounting and customary business and financial business practices.

We offer a small office environment with a fast-paced tempo that requires enthusiastic, energetic people. This is an integral contract position, and the individual will monitor daily processes, lend assistance to projects, solve intermittent issues, and display the 'take charge' attitude expected from a successful business professional.

Contract Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with oversight of financial activities.
  • Reporting
  • Budgeting
  • Forecasting and controls
  • Cash management - short/long term investments.
  • A/P and A/R optimization
  • Preparation of online balance transfers
  • ACH payments and wire transfers.
  • Manages and maintains a monthly accounting close process.
  • Preparing financial statements timely and presenting them to management
  • Responsible for the audit/verification of all company expenses including trade payables, employee reimbursements, and asset purchases.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial role.
  • Experience working with FACTOR or similar software.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance, and audit processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience in data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field a plus
