Who is MCS? Mid-America Conversion Services (MCS) is cleaning up the environment! We manage the Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride (DUF6) Conversion Facilities at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) sites near Paducah, Kentucky and Portsmouth, Ohio. The conversion facilities were designed and constructed to convert DOE’s inventory of DUF6 produced by the former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion and the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plants to a more stable uranium oxide form for reuse, storage, and/or transportation and disposition. Position OverviewUnder general supervision responsible for providing support in the functional areas of compensation, benefits, staffing, employee relations, equal employment opportunity (EEO) development and related areas ensuring adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and related government regulations for the DUF6 project. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities to support the organization in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:Functional:Assists with the onboarding of new employeesInputs employee data into respective vendor's databasesCreates letters, presentations, reports, plans, procedures, policies, spreadsheets and other project-related documentsSupports with research, development, and implementation of Human Resources policies and handbooks concerning employee welfare, health and wellness, and counselingPartners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulationsAssists with the personal and professional development of the organization's employees through orientation, development and trainingContributes to the improvement of manager and employee performance by identifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, and implementing solutionAssists with performance management working closely with managers and employeesAssists with compensation and benefits administrationPromotes the administration of organizational recruiting and relocation programAssists in the administration of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) compliance and records managementAids with the maintenance and coordination of employee recognition programsCompetencies:Possesses strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with moderate attention-to-detailAdministers intermediate level written and verbal communication skillsPossesses intermediate PC skills to include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Adobe AcrobatConveys the ability to apply organizational practices, policies and proceduresMaintains the judgment and discretion to properly discern and safeguard highly-sensitive information and documents, including company-proprietary information, and classified or otherwise sensitive national security informationJOB REQUIREMENTS *Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent3+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
