The Opportunity:

CACI | SystemWare is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 in either our Herndon, VA or Thousand Oaks, CA location! This position is 100% on-site. Your expertise will help drive forward next-generation RF system designs used in a variety of applications across our customer space while collaborating with a cross-functional multi-disciplinary team including signal processing, software, hardware, mechanical and systems engineers.

Responsibilities:

As part of our signal processing and embedded software team, you will participate in the design of specialized tools, sensors, and communications devices, embracing evolving and novel technologies, likely outside of your “comfort zone”, to achieve innovative solutions to complex problems. This role will help you apply what you have learned in class and prior experience to improve your understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of software design, implementation, testing, and change management in a commercial environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering/Signal Processing, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Previous internship/co-op or class experience with application, user interface, or database design

  • A desire to work within a larger software development team solving complex problems involving all aspects of embedded systems including HW/SW/DSP

  • Familiarity with C/C++/C#, Rust, WebGL, or Javascript in either Windows or Linux programming environment

Desired:

  • Experience with Python programming

  • Experience with multi-threaded application development, debugging, and testing

  • Experience with TCP and WebSocket programming

  • Experience with Linux based development, debug, and deployment tools including source control (Git) or containerized environments (Docker / Podman)

  • Object-oriented application design and development

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$36,300-$72,600
