Job Summary
The Inventory/Materials Assistant is a contractor position that supports the daily operations of our stockroom. As a contractor, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, performing a combination of manual and clerical duties related to inventory management. This role involves using computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting, as well as following established inventory practices and procedures.
Contract Details
- Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a standard 30-minute unpaid lunch break, typically taken during the middle of the day.
- Contract term: 9-18 months.
- Contract may be terminated at any time based on business needs.
- Possibility of full-time employment opportunities based on successful performance.
- Verify and record material receipts, including quantity, cost, and type.
- Inspect articles and reject defective ones.
- Prepare inventory records and reports, including investigating discrepancies in stock counts.
- Requisition needed supplies and maintain inventory levels.
- Perform routine, repetitive, and basic tasks where precedent, methods, and processes are well established.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge, with ability to learn new systems and software.
- Employee must provide own toe protection footwear
- Attention to detail and ability to verify long part numbers, serial numbers, quantities, and weights.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also being part of a team.
- Must be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
- Job requires standing for periods of time, up to 4 hours per day.
- Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels.
