Summary: This position requires specific skills including mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, machining, welding and electrical knowledge. Duties include the installation, maintenance and repair of facility, production or processing equipment. Incumbents may be required to fabricate machine guards, install or repair conveyers, replace motors, tear down or replace pumps, maintain fluid collection or distribution equipment or repair electro-mechanical equipment. Performs work involving Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), Human Interface Modules (HMI's) and demonstrates working knowledge of motion control systems/devices. Has the ability to diagnose equipment breakdowns, and to determine root cause while communicating effectively with relevant partners. Tests faulty equipment, performs complex electrical troubleshooting and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronics and equipment to diagnose the cause of the malfunction. Troubleshoots parts of devices and control instruments, performs setup procedures and replaces/repairs defective components or equipment to restore proper function. Works with contractors or outside equipment representatives as needed. Submits purchase orders for parts Maintains records of repairs and work orders completed and assist in the creation of preventative maintenance plans. Moves and sets up workstations/offices. Troubleshoots and repairs minor maintenance problems involving facility, electrical, and plumbing. Participates as part of the emergency response team. May assist outside emergency response teams. Provides work training to less experienced maintenance staff. Observes and complies with Company safety procedures at all times. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Technical degree in mechatronics or other maintenance related field is preferred. Two (2) years of education with more than one (1) year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
