Job Duties:

This role supports ongoing Lab responsibilities for production and development failure analysis activities in the PCFA Laboratory. This position is responsible for assisting experienced Engineers and Technicians with a variety of day to day testing activities with increasing independent work as experience increases. This position follows defined procedures and processes using various advanced testing instrumentation in order to complete tasks. Failure analysis is primarily in support of production and new development operations.

Summary of duties :

  • Ability to work independently, as well as on teams, to complete special projects

  • Ability to work well within a small core team environment to continuously improve testing throughput and schedules to meet customer needs

  • Responsible for setup of testing and support equipment, monitoring and measuring instruments and other apparatus in support of a wide variety of materials testing

  • Coordinates testing and data collection, and evaluates data for validity, accuracy and completeness

  • Improves and refines existing fixtures, devices, methods, process steps or procedures, implementing changes as necessary and according to NSC regulations

  • Provide technical direction and training to others

  • Collects/interprets data and prepares technical and evaluation reports

  • Ability to interface with multi-disciplines and colleagues across the plant, including those within Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Operations

  • Provides technical assistance in appropriate assigned field

  • Supports engineering to develop new testing and measurement procedures

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations regarding technological advances that improve productivity and quality, reduce flow time, and enhance operations

  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements. Takes actions necessary to stop work when unsafe

    You Must Have:

  • US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Department of Energy “Q” level security clearance

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program

  • Two (2) or more years of applied electrical engineering experience with emphasis on integrated circuit design or fabrication

    We Value:

  • Four (4) or more years of applied electrical engineering experience with emphasis on integrated circuit design or fabrication

  • MSEE with emphasis in microelectronics/ integrated circuits

  • Effective communicator: oral, writing; presentation

  • Experience managing technical projects in a technical environment

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%

    Candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered for a higher level Engineering job classification (III; Senior) commensurate with candidate credentials and as warranted by business requirements.
