Reporting to the Senior Bid Manager, the Bid Manager will be a crucial part of the order winning team for the Filtration Energy Solutions (FES) division, within the Parker Hannifin Filtration business. A successful Bid Manager must be skilled at finding imaginative solutions to enable the Sales team to win complex proposals, while appropriately managing business risk. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs, manage complex issues within your functional area of expertise and lead multi-functional teams to implement the relevant transactional strategy.
Interface with the Sales teams to develop commercial strategies and solutions that will meet customer requirements as well as meet or exceed business goals
Lead a matrix deal team through the transactional deal process, having the ability to structure creative, commercially & technically sound, high quality deals
Responsible for all aspects of contract management, including proposal development, risk management and mitigation, specification compliance, scope development, pricing, and support customer negotiations
Provide leadership during the deal review process to ensure that all technical risk points, risk mitigation, and business risk acceptance levels are appropriately managed
Develop and negotiate Terms and Conditions for customer proposals based on risk / reward analysis
Support customer feedback processes and build customer satisfaction through outstanding customer relationships
Bachelor degree or higher with 4 years of experience in Sales, Commercial and/or Engineering
Commercial and/or technical risk management experience
Previous experience in sales of industrial technical products or services.
Previous experience in sales, customer service, engineering or commercial.
Key Competencies
Commercial acumen, demonstrated through building relationships with Customers and knowledge of commercial terms and conditions
Technical acumen, demonstrated through prior experience with technical product offerings (preferably in an industrial sector) or an Engineering degree
Strong problem solving skills and ability to find creative solutions to problems
Experience with US Export control desirable
High motivation level, hunger to learn & succeed, strong leadership skills, able to consolidate & drive action plans
Proficiency and experience with CRM and ERP tools
Excellent presentation, communication and team working skills
Proficiency and experience with Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
