Zurich North America is currently looking for a Commercial Broker Specialist within Direct Markets. In this role, you will contribute to the soliciting and placing new and renewal business opportunities from Direct Markets field sales staff and customers. The majority of your interactions will be via telephone, email, and virtual encounters to remarket products to insurance carriers for risk transfer opportunities relating to our dealer customers. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills, an elevated level of drive and a passion for sales success!

Some of the key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Anticipates and communicates marketplace and end customer changes to maximize renewal account retention.

  • Utilizes effective sales techniques to maximize account closure rates and achieve agency sales goals.

  • Analyzes end customer risk characteristics including exposures, loss history and experience modification and/or individual and group characteristics to determine coverage needs and appropriate markets.

  • Advises end customers on coverage options, limitations and risk control opportunities.

  • Determines the most appropriate insurance carriers available to meet the end customer´s needs.

  • Prepares and refines customer insurance applications for presentation to insurance carriers.

  • Negotiates the best available proposals from carriers and presents those alternatives to field sales and/or end customers.

  • Responds quickly and effectively to end customer inquiries and needs regarding items such as insurance policies, endorsements, billing questions, premium audits, certificates of insurance, and claim issues.

  • Maximizes customer satisfaction by seeking out and engaging the best available resources - both internally and externally - to resolve the customer´s problems/concerns.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and six (6) or more years experience required in the Insurance or Sales areaOR

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Insurance or Sales areaAND

  • Knowledge of multi-line P&C coverage and products

  • Experience with insurance financial performance indicators

  • Knowledge of carrier, wholesale, broker and E&S markets

  • Knowledge of insurance policy, forms and applications

  • The ability to be licensed in P&C

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CIC

  • CISR

  • CPCU

  • Ability to prioritize

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Advanced understanding and application of customer service techniques

  • Ability to manage priorities

  • In-depth knowledge of evaluating quotes for coverage, terms, and conditions and pricing differenes
