Summary

The Diversified Analog Solutions team located in Ottawa, Canada is home to Skyworks' design center for RF front-end solutions, power amplifiers, synthesizers, switches and controllers for GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WLAN and WiMAX applications and has a challenging opportunity for an University Student available for a 12 month work term starting in January 2025. As an RF Design Validation/Testing Co-op student you will apply sound engineering skills to a variety of task and project assignments in the area of electronics, design engineering, and semiconductor component test development.

Job Description

The RF Design Validation/Testing Co-Op will support RF test evaluation of RFIC's and multichip modules. Requires background in RF/microwave design. Knowledgeable in RF testing and RF equipment setup. Proficient in data processing and presentation tools such as Matlab, MS Excel and Power Point. Good data summary and presentation skills are desired. The student will perform RF tests, evaluate and summarize results, and present data to design engineers. The person should understand RF parameters and be able to communicate effectively. The Co-op will may also be involved in design evaluation, simulation and debugging of RF switches, Filters, Couplers, PA's, LNA's and FEM's. The student should be a self-starter and enjoy being hands on.

Must have the ability to work full-time as a Co-Op during the Co-Op Term which runs from January - December 2025.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor or Master Degree’s program, and must be returning to school after the completion of this Co-Op (will not consider graduated students)

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data organization

  • Knowledge in RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF, etc.) is an asset

  • RFIC Design and Simulation experience will be a plus

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Experience in using RF equipment such as oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources

    The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on level of education and the ultimate job duties and requirements.
