L3Harris Inventory Management Support in Ottawa, Ontario

About your next Challenge as an Inventory Management Specialist :

Perform receiving, packing and shipping activities and ensure that the controls are in accordance with company and/or corporate policies and procedures .

What will you do:

  • Ensure export compliance for all outbound shipments;

  • Comply with SOX related procedures;

  • Ensure that all material is secured in order to minimize potential loss; and

  • Manage all Controlled goods in accordance with company policies as well as the Controlled Goods Program.

  • Receives merchandise - checks and signs delivery slips, and assists with unloading as necessary

  • Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods

  • May operate forklift, or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods

  • Receives merchandise into the company’s ERP system

  • Assemble packaging materials and packages merchandise per instructions, in preparation for shipment

  • Coordination of all freight movements with client and suppliers (Import/Export Shipments)

  • Execution of shipment based on incoterms

  • Verification of all documents of shipments (Export Permits, CERES, Packing Lists, Certificates (CoO, CoC, NAFTA, etc.)

  • Follow up with shipments to help ensure on-time shipment

  • Read, monitor and respond promptly to all incoming communications (Internal & External) for control of operational issues

  • Tracking shipments to final destination

  • Maintain internal record-keeping systems

  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies

  • Support other departments, as required e.g. support facilities with inspections, material handling, set up all-hands area, etc.

    Required Skills and Experiences:

  • At least six (5) years’ of relevant experience in Inventory Management, Shipping/Receiving and/or Export Traffic coordination

  • Proficient using ERP system;

  • Capable to demonstrate physical strength as the majority of work is of physical nature;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: strong collaboration, communication and teamwork skills;

  • Strong aptitude in time management, decision making and problem solving

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Bilingual French and English (written and spoken)

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Willingness to assist other departments, ease working with many people (customer teams, internal services and suppliers)

  • Results oriented.

    Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory) :

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
