THE OPPORTUNITY:  

TechInsights is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our team in our Ottawa Office.  As a Financial Analyst, you will be reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.  The Financial Analyst will be responsible for producing the monthly board package/management accounts as well as quarterly forecast package (using the Adaptive Planning tool).  In addition, the Financial Analyst will provide technical, analytical and coordination support to assist with the reporting of monthly financial results and the development of monthly/quarterly operating forecasts.  The Financial Analyst will also participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the forecast accuracy of models used within the forecasting application and general reporting capabilities.  The Financial Analyst will gain exposure to the PE investors and participate in ad hoc projects such as analysis for corporate events.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO  

  • Prepare monthly board package/management accounts and other external reporting

  • Perform analysis in support of the month end close process

  • Provide information and support to department budget owners for the preparation of forecast planning revisions

  • Liaise with global office contacts for the maintenance and update of financial statement forecasting elements

  • In coordination with the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, ensure planning changes are captured in systems (Adaptive Planning) within established timelines

  • Perform variance analysis to ensure forecast completeness and accuracy

  • Participate in the design, development and improvements to planning systems in place and use of various assumptions based forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of source files used in reporting results of finalized forecast updates

  • Perform maintenance, calculations and recording of monthly internally development capitalized costs

  • Perform weekly revenue forecasts

     

    WHO YOU ARE  

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in Business/Accounting

  • Previous experience in a similar role

  • Proficient in MS Office, including solid Excel skills

  • Experience using NetSuite an asset

  • Experience using Workday Adaptive Planning software an asset

  • Ability to work with and summarize large data sets in Excel

  • Attention to detail in all areas of work and high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines

  • Excellent organizational, time management and prioritizing skills

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills
