Position Summary:
Responsible for carrying out design and development assignments connected with manufacturing equipment and processes including: tools, jigs, and special equipment to achieve desired production rates and quality standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Investigates and analyzes the cost and reliability of using various equipment and processes.
Studies performance and troubles in existing tools and equipment and recommends improvements through redesign or modification.
Estimates costs of assigned projects together with a satisfactory delivery schedule.
Follows up to see that schedules are met.
Makes layouts and detail drawings of equipment assigned.
Evaluates various equipment and methods and points out advantages, disadvantages and production capabilities.
Recommends the purchase items needed to keep equipment properly maintained.
Keeps abreast of all new development in equipment or processes that could be adapted to improve manufacturing processes.
Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve department throughput.
Help with Capital Investment planning and strategy.
Performs other duties as assigned or as dictated by responsibility.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Machine tool proficiency.
Good communication skills.
Programming ability.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
Problem solving and troubleshooting related to quality.
Analyze customer concerns as it relates to machine set-up and tooling
Experience in APQP & ATR
Education and Experience:
BSME/BSEE.
Experienced in implementing automation equipment.
Manufacturing experience.
