Job Summary

The Machinist performs a variety of routine and non-routine machining assignments such as complex high precision parts for turbine repairs.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Machine complex high precision parts for turbine repairs

  • Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments, such as micrometers or gauges

  • Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders

  • Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability

  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management

  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow directed safety procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience in a machining environment preferred

  • Knowledge of tolerances, blueprint readings, and metric measurements preferred

  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to follow specific written instructions and procedures

  • Exceptional organization and attention to details

  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing

  • Working knowledge of basic mathematical skills

  • Willingness to learn with the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods of time

    Education :

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Technical certification preferred
