Managing the establishment, implementation and maintenance of a safe, healthy and accident-free working environment, in compliance with all applicable EHS company regulations, policies and procedures, and a safety statement that ensures the implementation of safety objectives throughout the site.

Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Engineer to ensure compliance with safety legislation and drive continuous improvement in workplace safety. You'll work closely with plant management to develop, update, and implement our safety policies and systems while fostering a culture of safety across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the site safety statement and policy in collaboration with management, ensuring regular communication with all employees.

  • Advise site management on Health & Safety legislation and best practices, including compliance with the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and relevant regulations.

  • Oversee internal audits, compliance reporting, and regulatory accident reporting, liaising with the EHS Manager.

  • Implement corporate Health & Safety systems, focusing on process safety, risk assessment, accident reporting, and change control.

  • Drive proactive safety initiatives, including accident/incident prevention and visual management systems (near miss/good catch reporting).

  • Provide safety input for plant modifications and new facility designs, participating in pre-start-up safety reviews.

  • Conduct process hazard assessments, risk assessments, and Health & Safety audits.

  • Coordinate and deliver Health & Safety training for staff and contractors, ensuring legal compliance.

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce workplace injuries and improve safety procedures.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and training skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in promoting a safety-first culture and engaging employees in safety practices.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and fluent English.

  • Certified in Occupational Health and Safety (Level I and II).
