THE ROLE:
The Global Trade Compliance Specialist will contribute to the continuous improvement of Oshkosh Corporation’s import compliance program as required under the Code of Federal Regulations. This role will provide trade compliance to company personnel involved in sourcing product overseas and manage the day-to-day import operations to ensure compliance with all applicable governmental regulations.
YOUR IMPACT:
Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for shipments to ensure timely and compliant clearance and delivery to and from all manufacturing service parts locations.
Work with Purchasing and Engineering team members to determine the accurate classification of imported merchandise.
Monitor and track all import entries that require additional reporting to U.S. customs to accurately report any port-entry adjustments that may apply.
Facilitate the yearly solicitation of Free Trade Agreement certificates of origin and also serve as the day-to-day point of contact for all exported products to ensure vehicles and parts undergo the qualification process.
Collaborate with the assist management team to ensure the accurate and compliant reporting of assists to U.S. Customs; including tool, free-of-charge supplied parts, and non-recurring engineering expenses.
Help facilitate the compliant submission of Importer Security Filing (ISF) to ensure all goods are exported from foreign countries timely and compliant with all new ISF requirements.
Manage projects related to process improvements and overall Certificates of origin and import data solicitations tasks.
Assist with the conducting of internal import related audits.
Serve with intermediate knowledge around part classification.
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE:
Bachelor’s degree and three (3) or more years of experience within in Supply Chain, Legal or a related field.
OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant industry related certifications.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.
Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.
Experience and proficiency with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
Occasional travel may be required; typically less than 10%.
