State Hospital North is looking to fill a vacancy in our business office for the role of Financial Technician Senior. This position will oversee our medical billing and accounts receivable process, performing a variety of para-professional financial duties for accounts receivable. We are looking for a proactive addition to our team who is interested in developing processes, maintaining records, documents, reports, and financial data; reviewing financial documents and records; performing some entry level accounting, bookkeeping or audit functions; and related work.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Using programs to accomplish accounts payable tasks in LUMA, Putty, PAMS, CPRS, IBES.

  • Conducting regular audits of accounts and invoicing.

  • Using entry level accounting principles and data management.

  • Processing incoming receipts in compliance with DHW and state of Idaho policy and processes.

  • Management of accounts receivable processes in the business office.

  • Providing financial information and compiling reports as requested for accounts receivable.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.   • Some knowledge of: Accounting principles and practices.Typically gained by completion of twelve (12) college credits, or equivalent, covering accounting and financial information technology; OR approximately one year of financial work experience with specialized training covering general accounting principles and procedures and computer applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Quicken, etc.).

  • Good knowledge of: Financial record keeping methods.Typically gained by at least three (3) years of full-time, paid work where primary duties involved accounting/bookkeeping that included reconciling, balancing and proofing financial data. (Note: Paying bills, collecting money, purchasing items or maintaining a rotary fund is not qualifying at this level.); OR completion of at least one college accounting courses and two years of experience; OR completion of 2 college accounting courses and at least one year of experience; OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting OR a Bachelor's degree in Business with at least 20 semester credits in accounting.

  • Experience bookkeeping using advanced Microsoft Excel functions. Typically gained by at least one (1) semester of high school bookkeeping OR approximately six (6) months professional work experience making routine debit and credit transactions, using worksheets and developing reports AND at least six (6) months of experience using Excel features such as filters, PivotTables and formulas.

  • Experience researching and compiling financial info and preparing summaries and reports. Typically gained by at least one (1) year of experience researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports; OR, six (6) months of experience researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports AND two (2) college level or training courses related to researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports (such as, Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, QuickBooks, Microsoft Access and/or Excel, etc.).

  • Experience using personal computers to retrieve, edit, and analyze financial data. Typically gained by at least six (6) months of experience using a personal computer to retrieve, edit, and analyze financial data.
