Position: Veterans Services Coordinator                                                                       

Classification: PS01-04 ($21.58 -- $22.57 -- $23.59 -- $24.97) 

Hours:   40/Week      

Positions Supervised: Veterans Resources Specialists                                    

Supervisor:  Housing Program Specialist                               

 

Essential Function of the Job

The Veteran Services Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program which serves Veterans and/or Veteran families who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.  The position will be responsible to provide day-to-day management and administration for a team of case managers and to work collaboratively with the Community Services and Housing Department to implement processes and procedures that adhere to strict funding rules and regulations while providing comprehensive supportive services to those enrolled.   

 

Examples of Work

  1. Complete household assessments through the coordinated entry system to determine eligibility for assistance.
  2. Conduct regular team meetings, setting performance goals, and providing guidance and supervision to ensure the team is effectively delivering services.
  3. Organize and lead training for case managers.
  4. Assist in developing program policy and procedure.
  5. Collaborate with other EightCAP, Inc. departments, Veterans Affairs, Veteran Service Officers, local resources, legal aid, and District Court to maximize a positive outcome for the client.
  6. Organize outreach initiatives to promote the program and aid in recruiting eligible veteran households.
  7. Cultivate connections with landlords and/or their representatives to assist in mediating positive solutions that ensure the continued or securing housing for enrolled households.
  8. Engage in routine communication with supervisor and department Director to furnish necessary information as required by the Agency, funding sources, and community partners.
  9. Attend Veteran specific and/or housing related community meetings to disseminate information about the program.
  10. Ensure prompt and accurate processing of supportive services, allocating resources as needed.
  11. Monitor program enrollments, case notes, and other client records.
  12. Additional and other duties as assigned.
