Description:

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing workload automation, job scheduling, and/or applications to meet user needs and business requirements. As well as work with internal and external resources to develop system solutions. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide production support our customer's IT and Business Teams to support automation initiatives as well as issue resolution on existing automation and job scheduling.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop automation programs and/or applications as needed to meet user needs and business requirements.

Provide production support to IT and Business teams to support automation and job scheduling activities—Troubleshoot problems to determine root cause and correct as required.

Recommends decisions on more complex issues to Manager. Prioritizes resources allocation of multiple, more complex projects assigned.

Analyze information requests and discuss with user to assemble all elements required to produce the requested information.

Code, test and implement programs or applications using appropriate programming language, such as JAMS, Unix Shell or PowerShell utilizing appropriate database engines such as SQL Server.

Maintain current documentation on all programs, systems, and procedures.

Maintain and modify existing programs and applications as required.

Provide guidance and expertise to developers with less experience in JAMS.

Reviews user requirements and needs for new software and performs analysis, design, implementation, installation and training related to new software developed and/or acquired.

Provide technical assistance and advice to end-user programming community

Analyze and define business requirements, participate in selection, and implement new functionality, applications and modules within JAMS and other automation tools. Adhere to our customer's SDLC and technology architecture requirements

Proactively identify and communicate potential problems and issues to project team members/leaders

Proactively identify alternatives and recommend/implement solutions as appropriate

Ensure accurate project status and work estimates (ETCs) are consistently reported /communicated to project leaders/managers in a timely fashion

Consistently enhance skills and job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products and trends; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
