We are experiencing growth and seeking a Systems Engineer to join the Aerodynamics Technology Center supporting IRAD- and contract-funded efforts across Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) at our site in sunny Orlando Florida!

What You Will Be Doing

The selected candidate must be able to perform aerodynamic analysis (including simulation and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling), aerodynamic design (including preliminary design and detailed design), and wind tunnel test planning and execution.

The selected candidate will need to have a good understanding of flight vehicle stability and control, simulation modeling, aerodynamic modeling, experimental aerodynamics, flight test data analysis, and separation and fly-out simulations.

*Experience in these fields is preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

• PhD in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field.

• Aerodynamic and fluid dynamic modeling and analyses experience.

• Significant programming experience in at least one programming language.

• Mathematical modeling and analyses skills: Calculus (through Differential Equations), Numerical Methods, Linear Algebra.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and can obtain a DoD Interim Secret clearance and/or hold an active Secret clearance that has been investigated w/in the last 5 years

Desired Skills:

• Significant aerodynamic wind tunnel testing experience.

• Significant Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) experience.

• Significant programming experience: C++, MATLAB, FORTRAN.

• Flight simulation modeling experience and aerodynamic model generation.

• Heat transfer analyses (Conduction, Convection, Radiation).

• Reacting flow/hypersonic experience.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
