Job Description:

This position is responsible for the creation and detailed analysis of the master program schedule, including status, performance, network logic, critical path, and schedule risk analysis. Additionally, this position will manage the production control department and provide guidance and direction ot the team members.

Essential Functions:

  • Creates and tracks plans and schedules, performs risk analysis, identifies, and resolves critical path and network logic conflicts.

  • Senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight.

  • Typically, responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees.

  • Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.

  • Performs schedule analysis in support of assigned programs or projects.

  • Utilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.

  • Prepare, develop, and coordinate integrated master plan and integrated master schedule (IMP/IMS) using MS Project, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Contributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational, manpower plans, etc.).

  • Establishes short-term operational plans with measurable contribution to function or business area results.

  • Requires comprehensive knowledge of BoM (Bill of Material) setup and functions within a program production line.

  • Expand the use ERP/MRP system to drive more automation within the operation and promote measurement / adherence to process time standards.

  • Supports bids by providing manpower estimates for the execution of programs.

  • Support management of government/customer property control program, internal property control program, and calibration planning to specific goals

  • Maintains and supports a safe product and work environment.

  • Champion continuous improvement

  • Establishes and promotes teamwork atmosphere between departments to accomplish company mission.

  • All other assignments as required

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

  • Experience utilizing MS Project

  • Experience creating and/or maintaining an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and any Supporting Schedules on assigned projects/programs.

  • Experience creating and presenting project-level reports, presentations and deliverables that reflect risk and status to program management and senior management relating to the IMS is required.

  • Experience with an automated MRP system within a manufacturing environment to manage material.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) 14-point assessment and Monte Carlos Risk Analysis (Schedule Risk Analysis)

  • Structured Solutions - SSI tools management

  • Program management and or Coordination, SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) process

  • Critical thinking and problem solving, attention to detail and quality of product deliverables.

  • EVMS – Earned Value Management Systems

  • Risk and Opportunity Management

  • MS Project Certification, Lean training certificate a plus

  • Possess exceptional communication (both oral and written) and listening skills.

  • Strong relationship building skills at all levels of the organization and the ability to work effectively across functions within a matrix environment.

  • Detail oriented and possess the ability to make timely and informed decisions.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possess a willingness to accept accountability for one’s own actions and his/her subordinates.

  • Able and willing to take on new projects and learn additional aspects of the operation.

  • Excellent organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.

  • Experience with Costpoint software

  • Able to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends to meet customer commitments.
