The Opportunity

This position can be based out of our Orlando, FL or Lake Forest, IL location in the Rapid Diagnostics Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.

As the Purchasing Specialist, Logistics & Inventory Management , you’ll be responsible for conducting the daily inventory reconciliation as part of the purchasing process for Abbott Rapid Dx North America, LLC, ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of company materials and services. The Purchasing team is key to ensuring continued supply of our products, relationship management with our vendors and that all processes and objectives are implemented efficiently and timely and support the overall GBS vision.

What You’ll Work On

  • Support Supply Chain, Distribution, Customer Service and Finance on the life cycle of products, primarily including inventory reconciliation.

  • Maintain a network and cooperate with all involved stakeholders in identified projects.

  • Address inventory and receiving issues as identified.

  • Ensure contractual obligations are implemented, maintained and compliant.

  • When applicable, Oversee the inbound inventory for our 3PL and Abbott Owned Distribution Centers and work to resolve any discrepancies.

  • When applicable, support the inventory reconciliation with our 3PL Partners.

  • When applicable, function as the primary point of contact for 3PL partners for service issues and escalations liaison.

  • Participate in all team meetings to address open tasks, issues and projects and ensure actions are being taken to ensure KPIs are met.

  • Contribute to the Customer Experience ensuring delivery of acceptable quality goods and services on-time.

  • Resolve disputes or complaints between requestors, purchasing, receiving, and vendors.

  • Record and manage actions in relation to supplier incidents.

  • Participate in quarterly supplier reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

  • Comply with applicable antitrust and other purchasing-related laws and regulations including Federal Acquisition Regulations for government contracts.

  • Communicate the importance of the Quality System to all employees and report on its effectiveness.

  • Execute applicable Quality System processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years relevant experience in a purchasing organization required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or Business Management concepts preferred.

  • Certification from APICS or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience in inventory reconciliation, supply chain, and or warehouse highly desired.

  • Communicates Effectively.

  • Time Management.

  • Results Driven.

  • Must have experience working with SAP or other ERP/MRP system.

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-changing environment.

  • Must have strong business analytic skills.

  • Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction and support service delivery.

  • Must be a collaborator with high initiative and energy with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive process and projects.

  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite

The base pay for this position is $57,300.00 – $114,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
