The role you’ll contribute:
The Office of Design & Construction (ODC) Project Coordinator (PC) works under the ODC Project Manager Sr. II and Project Manager(s) on all projects assigned. The PC coordinates, expedites, and distributes project information including changes in project priorities with respect to schedule, performance and budget. The PC reads, interprets and understands construction drawings and plans for compliance with applicable codes, regulations and ordinances. The PC works closely with contractors, subcontractors and other team members throughout the project lifecycle. The PC actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Works closely with Contractors, Project Managers, Design Consultants or other professionals in their field to coordinate pre-construction activities. This includes review of existing conditions, schedule, budget and cost management during contracting phase.
Accurately manages multiple projects simultaneously. Coordinates, plans and evaluates the work of subcontractors on multiple jobs. Visits the job site frequently throughout the project life cycle.
Coordinates Owner, Architect and Contractor (OAC) meetings to provide sufficient information flow between OAC and Clinical / Operations staff.
Creates and maintains accurate, organized and complete project files to include all documents required to sustain internal, local, state, and federal regulatory compliance, to include preparation of materials for the purpose of internal and external audits. Maintains internal approval communications tools, project budget tracking forms and other documents related, updating throughout project life cycle.
Reads and interprets drawings and specifications. Interfaces with contractors and hospital staff to accomplish work following departmental policy on utility interruptions, traffic control, and safety including infection control and changes in original plan during construction.
Coordinates transmittal and documentation and retention of plans, contracts, construction change directives, and other related communications with hospital personnel, contractors, and architects.
Manages the close out and commissioning of the building to include OEM, staff training, as-built drawings, warranty escrow, and compliance with all contractual requirements of contractors and architects.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Five years’ progressive responsible experience
Minimum of five years’ construction project management experience required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
Five to seven years’ healthcare construction project management experience
Experience with Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA, or equivalent state agency) construction requirements
LICENSURE OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
Current State of Florida License in Architecture, Interior Design, Structural or Civil Engineering
General Contracting License
Project Management Certification
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :
Considerable knowledge of healthcare design and construction techniques including the knowledge of building codes and construction practices.
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize and evaluate the work of contractors.
Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints
Leadership abilities with the highest standards of professional ethics and integrity
Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS PREFERRED :
Proficient in e-Builder software program
Microsoft Project or similar project management program
